Democrats Disgrace Themselves Desperately Defending Drug Companies

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s con­fir­ma­tion hear­ings for Sec­re­tary of Health and Human Ser­vices (HHS) have seen some of some of the harsh­est ques­tion­ing of any of Pres­i­dent Trump’s cab­i­net nom­i­nees by D.C. hard­lin­ers.

One upside to the acri­mo­ny is that Kennedy’s harsh­est crit­ics and defend­ers of the sta­tus quo are now being pub­licly revealed as the law­mak­ers to whom the phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal indus­try has donat­ed the most mon­ey.

The most dis­grace­ful exchanges were, nat­u­ral­ly, between RFK Jr. and Sen­a­tors Bernie Sanders and Eliz­a­beth War­ren, both of whom take stag­ger­ing amounts of mon­ey from the phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal indus­try and while mar­ket­ing them­selves as great fight­ers of cor­po­rate influ­ence.

For our part, Kennedy’s con­fir­ma­tion is a win-win: If he is con­firmed, we have a cham­pi­on of med­ical free­dom and health head­ing the Depart­ment of Health and Human Ser­vices.

And if not, the dam­age done to Democ­rats will be immense. It’s now stun­ning­ly clear that the Demo­c­rat Par­ty is in hock to Big Phar­ma, and there is a con­sid­er­able con­stituen­cy of Democ­rats who care about health free­dom and this con­fir­ma­tion will alien­ate them from the Demo­c­rat Par­ty for­ev­er.
