Detroit police commissioner resigns after doxxing officers, conviction for threat to kill cops exposed

Dar­i­ous Mor­ris is a cop-hat­ing felon.

Nat­u­ral­ly, he was elect­ed Detroit Police Com­mis­sion­er.

A Detroit police com­mis­sion­er plans to resign after a news inves­ti­ga­tion exposed a crim­i­nal his­to­ry that includes threat­en­ing to kill a police offi­cer.

New­ly elect­ed Detroit Police Com­mis­sion­er Dar­i­ous Mor­ris, 38, told mul­ti­ple media out­lets he plans to resign from the Board of Police Com­mis­sion­ers fol­low­ing crit­i­cism over his social media posts, as well as his crim­i­nal back­ground. […]

Mor­ris was con­vict­ed of forgery and imper­son­at­ing a notary pub­lic in 2009, as well as sim­i­lar charges in 2010 that result­ed in a two-year prison sen­tence.

Mor­ris was lat­er charged with being a felon in pos­ses­sion of a firearm in 2021, a charge that was dropped after the offi­cer failed to show in court, though Wayne Coun­ty Pros­e­cu­tor Kim Worthy’s office announced it will refile charges in that case.

Mor­ris was arrest­ed again in 2023 and plead­ed guilty to assault­ing, resist­ing or obstruct­ing a police offi­cer after inter­ven­ing in a traf­fic stop involv­ing a mini-bike. A War­ren Police offi­cer at the scene claimed Mor­ris alleged to be the “Detroit Police Depart­ment Chap­lain at the 9^th Precinct” as he flashed a fake badge he bought online, WXYZ report­ed.

In video of the inci­dent reviewed by the news site, Mor­ris shout­ed at the offi­cer: “If you’d have put your hands on him, I would have shot you!”
