Via The Midwesterner:
Michigan Democratic Congresswoman Haley Stevens announced her campaign to replace Sen. Gary Peters in late April with a video touting her devotion to the state’s auto industry.
Ten days later, Stevens joined 163 Democrats in Congress to vote against efforts to end a de facto ban on gas-powered cars made possible by an exemption granted to California by former President Joe Biden’s Environmental Protection Agency. […]
Stevens was joined by Michigan Reps. Debbie Dingell, D‑Ann Arbor, and Rashida Tlaib, D‑Detroit, in opposing the measure, while all other members of Michigan’s congressional delegation voted “yea.”
The legislation promoted by Reps. John James, R‑Shelby Twp., and Lisa McClain, R‑Bruce Twp., is designed to nullify an EPA waiver of preemption that allowed California, the nation’s largest state economy, to ban the sale of gas-powered cars starting in 2035.
In other words, Haley Stevens, Debbie Dingell, and Rashida Tlaib want to allow states to enact regulations so outrageous and far-reaching that they would impact all 50 states — and especially Michigan.
Ridiculous!
