To the surprise of nobody, freshman U.S. Senator Elissa Slotkin turned in a dismal response to President Trump’s address to Congress that was full-to-bursting with snobbery and contempt for the American people.
The CIA operative occupying our U.S. Senate seat had not even begun her speech before talking down to viewers.
“It’s late — so I promise to be a lot shorter than what you just watched,” she began, implying her audience has a short attention span. President Trump, of course, had just delivered 100 minutes of dynamite to the American people. Of course, it’s also possible Slotkin was simply making an excuse for her lack of material, because she had nothing interesting to say.
Her very next sentence was this: “I won’t take it personally if you’ve never heard of me.” Again, assuming the American people’s ignorance.
It went on like this for ten long minutes, with Slotkin pointing her nose downward at the camera, furrowing her eyebrows when describing President Trump’s policies, and rocking her head when she thought she was making a clever point — zingers like “the math on his proposals doesn’t work.”
The self-proclaimed math whiz went on to sneer that Elon Musk called Social Security “the biggest Ponzi scheme of all time,” implying Musk was incorrect.
A Ponzi scheme is one in which each generation of investors depends on the next generation of investors. That definition fits Social Security perfectly.
In another example of her wit, Slotkin said: “President Trump loves to promise “peace through strength.” That’s actually a line he stole from Ronald Reagan.”
The expression was actually coined by the Roman Emperor Hadrian and has been in politics for centuries. Most recently it’s become a favorite of the Europeans in trying to pressure Trump into continuing the failed Ukraine war.
Slotkin closed by saying “we all know that our country is going through something right now,” implying that the American voters who resoundingly rejected the Democrats’ failed policies and gave President Trump a second term are mentally unhealthy.
This is, of course, confession through projection. The Democrats are unwell, and every independent voter knows it.
