State Rep. Julie Brixie (D‑Meridian Township) was caught on camera covering the car of Rep. Matt Maddock (R‑Milford) in plastic wrap.
Brixie then confessed to having done so on the House floor and, bizarrely, also falsely claimed the car’s engine was left running and the hood was open.
“My good colleague from the 51st district parked in two spots, including mine, to make sure no one hit his fancy car,” Brixie said. “I Saran wrapped it to give it an extra layer of protection.”
That was when she also claimed the car’s engine was running with the hood open.
“This behavior is not only strange but also unbecoming of an elected official, as faking an emergency during a government session and vandalizing a vehicle of an opposing political party is illegal,” wrote Rep. Angela Rigas (R‑Caledonia) on Facebook.
“I hope there are serious consequences for these actions. Her constituents must be questioning her stability, and I am as well,” Rigas wrote.
