Democrat state rep. plastic-wraps Republican colleague’s car

State Rep. Julie Brix­ie (D‑Meridian Town­ship) was caught on cam­era cov­er­ing the car of Rep. Matt Mad­dock (R‑Milford) in plas­tic wrap.

Brix­ie then con­fessed to hav­ing done so on the House floor and, bizarrely, also false­ly claimed the car’s engine was left run­ning and the hood was open.

“My good col­league from the 51st dis­trict parked in two spots, includ­ing mine, to make sure no one hit his fan­cy car,” Brix­ie said. “I Saran wrapped it to give it an extra lay­er of pro­tec­tion.”

That was when she also claimed the car’s engine was run­ning with the hood open.

“This behav­ior is not only strange but also unbe­com­ing of an elect­ed offi­cial, as fak­ing an emer­gency dur­ing a gov­ern­ment ses­sion and van­dal­iz­ing a vehi­cle of an oppos­ing polit­i­cal par­ty is ille­gal,” wrote Rep. Angela Rigas (R‑Caledonia) on Face­book.

“I hope there are seri­ous con­se­quences for these actions. Her con­stituents must be ques­tion­ing her sta­bil­i­ty, and I am as well,” Rigas wrote.
