Senator Jim Runestad elected Chairman of Michigan Republican Party

Washtenaw Republican Club February 22, 2025

Sen. Jim Runestad (R‑White Lake) has been elected Chairman of the Michigan Republican Party at the Republicans’ State Convention.

Washtenaw Republican Club Chairman John Dunlap issued the following statement on the occasion of Runestad’s election:

The Washtenaw Republican Club extends a hearty congratulations to Senator Jim Runestad as our next State Chairman. Senator Runestad has a distinguished career of service in the Michigan Senate, State House, Oakland County Commission, and North Oakland Republican Club.

Chairman Runestad is an outstanding spokesman for conservative principles, and his voting record is second to none. He has the depth of knowledge and experience in Lansing as well as in the Republican grassroots to be a highly effective chairman. We look forward to working with Chairman Runestad and his team to help get Republicans elected in 2026.
