Debbie Dingell, who represents Washtenaw County in Congress (having basically inherited the seat from her late husband), was caught on camera napping as her colleagues debated President Trump’s tax cut legislation.
Presumably, Dingell knew she would vote against anything Republicans proposed, and therefore saw no reason to stay awake for the ongoing deliberations.
After hearing outrage from her constituents, Rep. Dingell spun her snooze by saying she “been up for 31 hours straight fighting Republicans trying to gut Medicaid.”
It is neither correct that Republicans are trying to “gut” Medicaid, nor that Rep. Dingell made any effort to fight anything.
